Welcome to the KoKoNutTelegraph, The Pensacola Beach forum!
 Hey ya'll, Welcome to "The Kokonut Telegraph", the Pensacola Beach
website and open forum. This has been a work in progress for many months by
folks, just like you, who care about the beaches, past, present and future.
While there are many great websites out there, we hope you will find this one a
tad bit different, and in most cases, "off the charts", for that is our intent.
This forum welcomes all, locals, visitors, businesses, and especially members of
other forums and sites. We will have few rules to deal with, BUT, they will be
enforced to the letter by the moderators and the admin. It's really quite
simple, as your good time just cannot interfere with someone else's. We
encourage all to be a part of this forum in so many ways. If you would like
your own topic area, something that you really got it going on with, let us
know. We ask all businesses to participate on this site, and would like for you
to have someone represent you by posting on an ongoing basis. Our hope is that
this effort will help bring all together in a common goal and purpose in caring,
sharing and helping others whenever, and wherever the need arises. There is a
group of people, so very dear to all of us, our military, whom we hope will
become members of this site and forum, to just "stop" in and say hello from here
and abroad. There are no words to thank them enough for all that they do, each
and every day, to ensure the freedoms we all enjoy.
"The Kokonut Telegraph" finds it's home
in our little bit of "Paradise",
Pensacola Beach, Florida. We
will take you on a journey, thru this site, from the beauty and excitement of
Panama City Beach, visiting the
"luckiest fishing village in
Destin, on to the serenity of
Navarre Beach, the emerald blue waters of Pensacola Beach,
Pensacola, the home of "The Blue
Angels", Perdido Key and it's natural wonders, the laid-back feel of Orange
Beach and Gulf Shores, 24/7 gaming and entertainment in
Biloxi, docking in
New Orleans, the "French
Quarter", where jazz and blues, will live on forever.
"Local info", is what this site is all
about. We will tell you how it really is, where to go, what to do, and how to
find it. The "secret" is now out, please come enjoy, and share with us what we
all hold so dear in our hearts, and everyday way of life, the beaches along the
gulf coast. The "times are forever changing, many challenges are now at hand."
Preservation, conservation, and realistic goals must be set to ensure what we
now call "Paradise" found, will never be "Paradise" lost, because of our
inability to work, and dream together of days past, and days to now come.
Now, come on in, pull up a chair, sit
back, and enjoy "The Kokonut Telegraph". See "Mr. Music", find your "attitude
adjustment song", with perhaps, an "adult beverage" of choice. Whether it be
cruising topics from "Peddler's Alley, Ask Auntie Em, The Pickle Barrel, The
General Store, Mr. Music, to the Unknown Know It All," there will be something
for everybody, everywhere. From the beaches along the coast, to the downtown
scene, you will find it all here. The "boat" is leaving the dock, "Pelican
Pete" is on the way. "The Kokonut Telegraph" is settin sail, "All clear
Captain, let's do it." "Ya'll hold on, here we go!" |

| The KT is proud to feature another local business! |
 The "KT" would like to feature another one of our locals, Miss Mary Bedard, a Gulf Breeze resident. Mary is a long time friend of all the locals on Pensacola Beach, and has "served" many of us an "adult beverage", while bartending at several local pubs. You can find her these days, with her warm smile and friendly "hello" at Paddy O'leary's Irish Pub, on the beach. Mary has had her own thing going on now for several years. She owns and operates "Atropicaldress" where you can find some of the latest "beach" attire, and many other of those hard to find treasures. She has her own "on-line store", a website, and is one of ebay's "power sellers." Her feedback score on ebay is 4110, with a positive feedback of 99.9%, over the past 7 years! Please take a moment to check out her website, and store, as you will surely find something of interest to you and your friends. Miss Mary is just another one of our "locals" the "KT", and all of us, are really proud of. While Miss Mary is one busy lady, you will most likely always find her at the local beach events, supporting local charities, and promoting our beach.

| Support one of our great local business |
 The "Kokonut Telegraph" is all about letting others know when we see one of
our own doing well in their chosen profession. Michelle Sander's, a long time
Gulf Breeze resident, has been in the "housekeeping" business for ten
years, and has just expanded by adding on her own automobile detailing company.
Their new detailing location is located in
Gulf Breeze, but, they do offer "mobile" services, as well. Her
housekeeping services can handle any apartment, home, condo, or, business, as
well. She has detailed, reliable, references available upon request, and is
fully insured, bonded, and licensed. Her auto detailing service can come to you
upon request, as well, with appointments in advance encouraged. Michelle was a
valuable friend during the "Katrina-assistance" program locally, and is always
very much involved with local assistance whenever, and wherever the need
arises. Please give her a call for any of her professional services and know it
is "one of our own", doing well in the "local-services" community.

| A driving TPS report |
 You know how at an intersection how no one ever pays
attention? People use the time at a red light to catch up on some reading, make
some phone calls, sleep, snort some sort of controlled substance? We all do it,
well except for me.
It bugs me when I see people constantly stepping off the
break and rolling forward an inch, or perhaps they are tripping out really bad
and constantly pumping their brakes and their car’s front end is about to make
contact with the ground? Those people bug me.
You know what? When the light is RED that means stop, not
leave a 5 car distance and slowly roll forward. Here is what you do, it’s really
not that hard (to me anyways), you leave a safe amount of distance from the car
in front of you and you stop, you come to a complete stop…..THEN when the light
turns GREEN you can legally go, move forward with life.
It’s really not that hard, at least for me it isn’t.
Try this, next time you are the 2nd to the first
at an intersection at a red light, honk your horn at the car in front of you,
there is a very high chance the person in front of you isn’t paying any
attention and they will probably think the light turned green and accelerate
into traffic…. For some reason that seems a bit humorous to me, however I’m
crazy so that may not apply to everyone.
Not so long ago I was at an intersection and I was
patiently waiting in the LEFT turn lane, cars that wanted to go straight were to
the right of me waiting for the light to turn green too. Anyhoot, I got the left
turn green arrow (yay), the folks to the right of me still had a red. The guy
right to the right of me waiting for his green light to go straight must have
not been paying any attention at all, either saw the cars to his left moving and
thought the light was moving, or perhaps he mistaken the left turn light for his
circular green light he was waiting for, at any rate he floored it into the car
in front of him, and quite frankly I can’t stop laughing. Luckily for him I
didn’t see any damage as I drove off into the sunset via my left turn lane,
sucks for him, might want to pay a little more attention next time then Mmm’kay?

| First TPS report, ramdom talk, read at your own risk. |
What's happening?
Well today I would like to just tell you what is on my mind, and perhaps get you
to reflect on something that we all forget about at some point in our very busy
lives.
What could I possibly talk about that? Pictures! They are "worth 1000 words"
most would say, sometimes more, every pixel and in today's terms "bytes" can be
priceless.
When was the last time you pulled out the family photo album? Really? Probably
never? This might be my closed minded observation, but I think that not many
people bother reflecting on the past and looking at the things that happened,
the changes that happened over years or lifetimes.
It's ironic that we are so adamant about taking pictures of our families,
vacations, natural disasters, weddings, etc. When a major storm comes the first
thing we think about is what? Our photo albums and other irreplaceable items of
course. Especially if you live in an area that is susceptible to big storms and
need to evacuate (hurricanes perhaps?), you quickly grab your important do*****ents
and all the pictures you can get your hands on and high tail it out of there.
What's crazy is sometimes it takes a hurricane pointed toward us to remind us
that these precious pictures and even documents exist, and subsequently make
us look through them, in the end it's not all that bad after looking at the
pictures.
So next time you go to take pictures of your newborn baby, or your vacation in
Hawaii, think about the next time you actually looked at your photo album, and
next time you go to add something, take a a couple moments to reflect. It's
amazing how fast life can go, take a little time and reflect. Look at pictures
and videos made 10 years ago, put yourself in those shoes and ask yourself if
you would ever predict what you are doing today? Think a little bit in the
future too, ask yourself..."What will I be doing 5 years from now?" You may have
to ask yourself several times, most of us will first think "Well i'll win the
lottery and be on the beach with my saltless margarita....".
That is all that is on my mind right now (LIES!), I look forward to doing many more of these for the NEW and constantly improoving KokoNutTelegraph.
